He Built One of the Most Powerful TV Networks in the Country

Lynnwood Bibbens

An Interview with Lynnwood Bibbens
Founder of ReachTV

Lynnwood Bibbens did not wait for a seat at the table. He built the whole damn platform.

His rise reads like a high stakes hustle story. He went from selling computers to helping structure billions in media finance, then turned that dealmaking instinct into ReachTV, a travel entertainment company with unmatched scale.

Today, ReachTV reaches travelers in more than 90 airports, 500,000 hotel rooms, and across digital platforms, putting its programming in front of millions every month. The company has become the premium travel entertainment, with live sports, original series, business, lifestyle, and entertainment content, plus heavyweight partners that include the NFL, NBA, WNBA, LIV Golf, ACC Football, ACC Men’s and Women’s Basketball, TikTok, FOX, and Variety.

Before we get into ReachTV, your story starts with something deeper. Watching how you move through the world, you are the embodiment of loyalty. Where does that come from?
I grew up in a neighborhood where everybody had each other’s back. We fought, we argued, but nobody outside could come between us. Your neighbors were your family.

That became a mantra for me in business. Stay loyal. Stay core to who you are no matter what room you’re in.

I’ve built everything on relationships, not transactions. Transactions come and go. Relationships last 30, 40, 50 years. I’ve got friendships pushing for 50 years.

You’ve also surrounded yourself with people who rise with you. That doesn’t happen by accident.
People rise at different times. What matters is recognizing talent, sometimes before they see it in themselves.

My friends spoke things into me I didn’t even believe yet. That’s what helped me grow into something bigger than I thought I could be.

And I do the same for others. That’s how you build real teams.

So how does someone go from that background… to building something like ReachTV?
Nothing I’ve done happened in a vacuum.

I’m a product of people opening doors for me. And when those doors opened, I kicked them down.

Every stage of my career was preparation. Selling computers. Building businesses. Raising money. Structuring deals. Film financing.

By the time ReachTV came along, I had learned infrastructure, content rights, distribution, investing, capital raising, . It all came together.

For people who aren’t familiar, what is ReachTV?
It’s simple. We’re a travel entertainment company.

Our job is to entertain travelers across every touchpoint of their journey.

We start with the traveler, then work backward. What do they want? Where are they going? What are they doing at that moment?

Then we deliver content to them at the right place, at the right time, on the right screen.

Where are people actually experiencing ReachTV?
Over 90 airports across the U.S. and Canada. 500,000+ hotel rooms. Lounges. Mobile. TikTok. Instagram. YouTube.

If you’re traveling, chances are you’re interacting with ReachTV somewhere in your journey, even if you don’t realize it.

So the strategy isn’t chasing attention… it’s owning moments.
Exactly. Travel is one of the only times people lean back. They’re stressed. They’re waiting. They’re in transition.

Our job is to remove that stress and give them something that fits that moment. We don’t want you working to find content. We want it already there, perfectly programmed for you.

You also have major partnerships with leagues like the NFL. How did that happen?
It’s not about us. It’s about the traveler.

Travelers are incredibly valuable. About 60% of people attending live sports travel over 150 miles to get there.

That means travel is essential to sports. So leagues want their content in front of travelers.

We’re just the vehicle that connects them.

You’ve basically turned travelers into one of the most valuable audiences in media.
Exactly. Travel and tourism drive a massive portion of the economy.

So if you understand travelers, you understand where the money flows.

That’s why we built everything around them.

Was there a moment where everything almost broke?
COVID. We went to zero overnight. We’re a travel business. No travel meant no business. So we had to act fast. We cut costs, protected our team, and kept everyone employed.

Then we did something that changed everything. We started “dream sessions.”

What were those?
Every two weeks, the rule was simple. You couldn’t talk about current challenges. At all.

Only what we could become. No limits. No restrictions. Everything ReachTV is today came from those sessions.

So while the business was at zero… you were building the future version of it.
Exactly. First you think it. Then you believe it. Then you execute it.

We didn’t guess. We knew.

For someone starting today with just a laptop who wants to build their own TV network … what’s your advice?
Start with one question. Who are you serving? And how do you over-serve them? Everything else comes after that.

With the tools available today, especially AI, the possibilities are infinite. But it still starts with understanding people.

That’s the foundation of everything.
